Animal Testing

I'm sure most people have heard of animal testing, yeah?
But what really happens?
Some of it, but not all.
I'm now going to raise awareness! ^.^

One thing about animal testing is that it can be called animal research.
How ridiculous is that? o.e
In the US more than 80 million mice and rats are used each year for animal testing!!!
And do you know what, for instance, they're tested on/with?
Shampoo, perfume, soap, cleaning products, make-up, drugs, medicines, food...the list is endless.
I found this site which is all for animal testing!
"Testing on animals also serves to protect consumers, workers and the environment from the harmful effects of chemicals."
Wow, really? Somehow I don't think so...
"All chemicals for commercial or personal use must be tested so that their effect on the people and animals exposed to them is understood."
For cheese biscuits! Those people are just confusing matters! Extremely odd.
And apart from just doing all that awful stuff to them, they're not even kept in good housing! They're not fed, ventilated or looked after properly!
Here's a list of animals used;
Mice
Rats
Rabbits
Cats
Dogs
Monkeys
Apes
Horses
Frogs
Fruit flies (?!)
Hamsters
Guinea pigs
Ferrets
Gerbils
Gorillas (endangered)
And far more animals. Including wild, stray, pets and endangered animals!
I can't believe any person could do such a cruel thing. :'(
Even some stolen pets have been found in laboratories!
There are 3 categories for animals used in testing.
Category C: the animals experience little or no pain/harm/distress
Category D: the animals experience pain/harm/distress but are treated afterwards.
Category E: the animals experience awful pain/harm/distress and no one treats them.
I've also found that rabbits are the most commonly used animals for Category E.

"The stress, sterility and boredom causes some animals to develop neurotic behaviors such incessantly spinning in circles, rocking back and forth and even pulling out their own hair and biting their own skin.  They shake and cower in fear whenever someone walks past their cages and their blood pressure spikes drastically. After enduring lives of pain, loneliness and terror, almost all of them will be killed."
"To test cosmetics, household cleaners, and other consumer products, hundreds of thousands of animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed every year by cruel corporations.  Mice and rats are forced to inhale toxic fumes, dogs are force-fed pesticides, and rabbits have corrosive chemicals rubbed onto their skin and eyes.  Many of these tests are not even required by law, and they often produce inaccurate or misleading results; even if a product harms animals, it can still be marketed to you."

Not many pics because they're too awful.
Make sure that when you buy products it's marked "we do not test on animals" or something similar!!!

HELP RAISE AWARENESS!!!

  1. I heard that peta can exaggerate things a bit but it is scary. >_< And how would an animal help a human? To certain animals it may be dangerous and not to humans, or other way around. -_- I hate animal testing.
